Presented by Staten Island Yachts, the Montauk Canyon Challenge is the Northeast’s most popular offshore fishing tournament and its bigger and better than ever, offering one of the largest payout tournaments in the Northeast.
Part of the proceeds from the Montauk Canyon Challenge proudly supports the work we do. Last year, the Tournament raised a record donation of over $25K for Maggie’s Mission! Their goal is to beat that record this year!
Started by David O’Halloran who sadly passed away in May of 2017, the Northeast’s Premier Tuna Tournament is now directed by Richie Lucas, Viking Yachts Brand Manager and Chris Squeri, of Atlantic Yacht Haven and Travelers Yacht Haven. Through their hard work and dedication, the tournament has continued to grow. Now in their 12th year of the Challenge, MCC already has more boats registered than in years past with a record amount of prize money! Visit their website to see this year’s prizes. The total payout from 2021 was over $400k! This year’s Captains buckets will see the most gifts in their 12 years! To create the most fun and enjoyable tournament possible, the times to fish are a lot more flexible than most tournaments, which allows participating anglers the freedom to choose the best weather days and what works for their schedules. The awards dinner for participating anglers is on Saturday, July 16th starting at 5:30 at Gurney’s Star Island Resort & Marina in Montauk and you can bet Maggie’s Mission will be there!
