How this one plays

The name is unfamiliar and gives away nothing about what waits inside, yet the first ten seconds explain the whole thing. The character sets off running the moment the screen loads, the ground scrolls without pause, and the player is left with exactly one job: press to jump before the next gap arrives.

One-button games get dismissed as simple, although their difficulty sits somewhere different from games with a full set of controls. There is no move list to memorise. What you are training is your estimate of the distance between the runner and the far edge, and you have to keep sharpening it while the speed climbs until your eyes barely keep up.

The other thing to know is that there is nothing to look at here beyond a distance figure. No collectibles, no outfits to change, no ladder to climb. It suits someone who wants to compete purely against their own record rather than someone who wants to take something away after closing the tab.
