Fishing Frenzy

The line goes into the water and everything after that is waiting. Fish drift closer one at a time and there is a single moment worth striking at. A fraction early and the hook comes back empty; a fraction late and the fish has already gone by.

Games built around waiting are rare on this shelf. Most measure hand speed or planning, while this one measures your ability to stay still, which is a completely different skill. It is also why some people find it calming and others find it maddening.

One observation helps more than any other: watch the shadow under the surface rather than the fish itself. The shadow announces a change of direction before the body becomes clearly visible. Players who notice that begin to know in advance which fish are coming into range and which are merely passing through.
