How this one plays
Cartoon sea life floats in the grid: orange-and-white clownfish, pink starfish, round sea urchins and single-shelled snails. Swap them so three of one kind sit side by side and the group swims away together.
Behind all of it sits open water with bubbles rising constantly and stray light shifting across the scene. That permanent motion is pretty and it competes for your eyes. Most people find their first few rounds slower than usual, and after a while the brain learns to discard the background layer on its own so the old speed returns.
To adapt faster, force yourself to read the grid one horizontal row at a time instead of sweeping the whole screen. Scanning that way turns the bubbles and the light into a blur that no longer asks for attention.
