How this one plays
The board is packed shoulder to shoulder with wide-eyed monsters. Swap two of them into a line of three and the group pops away with a bounce. Clear one layer and the next set of pairs opens up underneath. Nothing counts down, so you can stare at the grid as long as you like.
That missing clock changes how people play. With nothing rushing them, most players stop dragging at random and start reading the whole grid properly. You can walk away in the middle of a stage and come back to exactly the same picture, which is rare in this family of puzzles where a countdown usually decides when you are finished.
When the grid looks jammed and no swap seems legal, the trick is to stop staring at the top rows and work upwards from the bottom edge instead. Fresh pieces always settle low first, so the newest legal pair tends to be hiding down there rather than near the space you just cleared.
